Minced Pork Omelette Recipe

This recipe is simple and delicious, reminiscent of a comforting dish my grandmother used to make. With only a few pantry ingredients, the dish is ready in 15 minutes. If you are using store-bought minced pork, it takes just 10 minutes to prepare.

Ingredients

  • 300 g minced pork
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons oil for frying
  • 1 tablespoon light soy sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon MSG optional
  • 1 tablespoon cooking wine
  • ½ cup water
  • Chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

Prepare the Ingredients:

  • Mince the meat with a knife. I prefer chopping the pork finely with a knife, especially when working with smaller amounts, as it's quick and efficient. Alternatively, you can use a blender if you prefer.
  • Crack 4 eggs into a bowl with the minced pork.
  • Mix well with chopsticks until fully combined.

Fry the Omelette:

  • Heat oil in a pan over medium heat and swirl to coat the entire surface of the pan.
  • Pour in the egg and pork mixture, gently swirling the pan to ensure even heating.
  • Cook on medium-low heat for about 1 minute, then flip.
  • Fry until both sides are golden brown.

Season the Omelette:

  • Add light soy sauce, salt, sugar, MSG (if using), and cooking wine to the pan.
  • Pour in half a cup of water.
  • Cover the pan and simmer for 3 minutes.

Serve:

  • Sprinkle with chopped green onions before serving.
